Research
The University Health Service is part of the Wessex Clinical Research Network. The network aims to ensure effective delivery of research in trusts and primary care organisations throughout the Wessex area and is part of the NHS.
At the University Health Service we aim to contribute to the research network by hosting and offering the opportunity for patients to participate in studies. This will aid patient care by delivering more evidence-based treatments, so improving clinical effectiveness.
You may be given the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial. This may be in the form of a questionnaire, focus group or a treatment. The types of study vary throughout the year and information will be available on posters in the surgery or on the website.
Participation is voluntary and is generally not remunerated although expenses may be paid.
We are passionate about improving healthcare and hope that you might help us with this important part of the development of clinical care within the NHS.
