Chlamydia screening

Sadly, with effect from 1st April 2016 the local council management has decided to stop funding practice-based chlamydia screening, which is a great shame. Despite this, we still actively encourage our patients to check themselves for chlamydia as it can cause infertility or pain.

It is also a good idea when starting a new relationship to screen yourselves before your first episode of sex so that you are both aware where you stand.

Treatment is usually very simple, with an antibiotic. Remember that chlamydia can be carried in the mouth and throat as well as the vagina and rectum, so all forms of sexual contact can lead to infection.

In order to obtain a chlamydia screening pack, please use the web ordering facility below.
